Jones Center for Bodywork and Wellbeing

Meet the Resident Bodywork Specialist

Hey Y'all! My name is Tecoria Jones. I am at home in Columbia, South Carolina. The worst thing about me as a Bodywork Specialist is...I love well spiced foods.  I keep plenty of freshining treats that I don't mind sharing! I appreciate a client letting me know I smell like lunch😅.

My commitment to bodywork and massage therapy began many years ago at the feet of my diabetic grandmother. By following her instructions to rub her feet and toes, I saw the benefit of massage and recognized the importance of monitoring chronic conditions. Even though it was a chore, I found I enjoyed it. Granny would tell me my hands knew what to do. Most importantly, I retained a deep understanding of the vital importance of connection and support in wellbeing.

Giving good care requires patience and listening for understanding. I am a Bodywork Specialist, offering licensed massage therapy and certified wellness coaching. My technique is a balance of talent and skill from extensive and ongoing training. My bodywork goal is to connect with the client's body systems as a sensitive, compassionate practitioner with hands that know what to do.

As a wellness coach, my goal is to be alongside my client as part support, part guide, part educator, by listening to, checking for clarity and uncovering connections as you navigate your path to your goals.

Centering client connection is the foundation of excellent technique and practice. Additionally, the responsibilities of being a health practitioner mean prioritizing continuing education for myself and my clients. In bodywork and  wellness coaching, strong, positive client relationships and vital education are central to my service delivery methodology and practice framework.

My goal is to be the best resource and support for health and wellness to all who find me and JCBW.  As an advocate of the ancient technology of massage and bodywork therapy, I am also committed to talking about and representing health and wellness coaching and licensed massage therapy bodywork. In the 21st century, compentents of our society have made it possible and necessary to explore the need for wellness.

Including owning BodyWorks Technologies, I advocate in food systems, mental health, parental support and wellbeing. I am also involved nationally in parent leadership, elevating the value of proximity, and community centered approaches.

Me and the Mayor of Columbia, Daniel Rickenmann, on the opening day of BodyWorks Technologies. Great conversation about the importance of holding on to your values in order to pursue your best happiness.
